Beauty of the aged

Some days ago,  while I was working on some new pieces, I found myself thinking about the beauty of this mold I made a few years ago:

It holds rings in 4 different sizes,  carved from sculpting clay from scratch,  but what gets my eyes is just the visible signs that this mold “lives”.   Through its spots (mainly black),  you can really guess a part of its history,  and maybe even think of is age.  I really enjoy that the things (not necessarily materials) I use to create my pieces reflect this comfy feeling,  in a way,  I feel like I can trust them.   And that is really what handmade is about,  right?   Love and trust
